Nepali students planning to study in Canada for the September 2025 intake received some crucial updates this week from Mr. Kandel during Goreto’s weekly Friday Talk. If you’re applying for a Canadian student visa or have already secured your permit, this blog breaks down everything you need to know, from new IRCC visa refusal policies, NOC trends, to important pre-departure tips.
Effective July 29, 2025, Canada’s Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) now includes a detailed Officer’s Decision Note (ODN) with every visa refusal letter. This note explains the exact reasons for refusal, helping applicants understand and improve their next application.

The number of Nepali students receiving No Objection Certificates (NOC) for Canada has significantly declined. According to Mr. Kandel:

If your study permit is approved, here’s a must-follow pre-departure checklist based on Mr. Kandel’s advice:
